Our year with Together Co
The Brief:
Together Co came to us looking for digital support to mainly improve their SEO so they could be found by both people in the local area experiencing loneliness and potential volunteers. They wanted people to understand and feel motivated by their purpose and impact. Another priority for them was to improve their user journey on their website and they were very open to suggestions and direction from the Creative Blend team on how to best do this with their pro bono allocation each month.
The Approach:
SEO audit & updates
Our first port of call with Together Co was to undergo a holistic SEO review of the website. This included seeing if the meta-data was optimised for search, how the navigation on site was working, alt image attributes, author pages and a keyword research to get a better understanding of what terms potential volunteers or lonely people in Brighton looking for support are searching for. From this audit our main takeaways which we then began to implement were; all new titles and descriptions for each web page that would rank better for search, suggestions of where to add links on in page in text and images, the incorporation of google reviews on site and alt text descriptions for images used on site for accessibility purposes.
Social media support
Together Co’s team wanted a little bit more direction from us on how best to interact and present Together Co on social media for maximum engagement and visibility. We decided creating some best practice documents for each social media platform with our tips and tricks would be a great addition to the team and something tangible they could keep and share with their extended team or any new team members. These documents included best times and days to post on each platform, how best to optimise your profiles, the low-down on hashtags and the types of content you should be posting. Our social media best practice documents are now available as a free resource!
Google Analytics review of the website
Our next step in optimising the Together Co website was to understand how users behave when they are on the site. We looked at demographics of users, where all the website traffic was coming from and the bounce rate on each page. Doing this analysis gave us a hefty list of opportunities for Together Co to improve their overall online presence. Some of the recommendations we suggested were; to consider making a Together Co TikTok account due to the age range of users on site, including links in all their Facebook posts as this was the main channel producing web traffic, adding call to actions on each page to promote donations and some page design suggestions to make pages more engaging for users to in turn reduce bounce rate.
Ga4 migration
Our final task for Together Co was to migrate Together Co from Google universal analytics to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). As many of us know from July 1st, old Google Analytics was replaced with GA4, meaning many businesses needed to transition to GA4. This is where we came in, we supported them in their transition to GA4 including the set up of tracking for key conversion areas.
Attend volunteering days & events
Back in November we also had the pleasure of attending one of Together Co’s befriending days where the CB team got to have some tea and cake, play some games and most importantly have some great chats and make meaningful connections with some of Together Co’s regulars. Hannah and Blanca also attended their summer event Pier2Peer which was a celebration of togetherness for all involved with the charity on Brighton Pier. There was afternoon tea, entertainment, and smiles all around!
