Real Talk | Logo design
The Brief:
Real Talk is the training arm of the well established UK Suicide Prevention charity Grassroots based in Brighton. Real Talks aim is to enable real conversations between people with the hope to prevent suicide. A truly worth-worth-while cause from an amazing bunch of people!
For this reason we’ve supported Grassroots Suicide Prevention since the later stages of 2017 as part of our charity commitment, and it was during one of our meetings about Grassroots that the team expressed their desire to discuss the Real Talk.
Prior to our involvement the Real Talk team had worked with an external designer who’s direction didn’t quite hit the mark for them. This meant coming into the brand design the initial exploration stage that we would normally complete had been done – we knew what Real Talk wasn’t in terms of style but it was now time to uncover what Real Talk needed to be!
With the clock already ticking on the launch of the new website we were building we had only a week to create the new brand? The challenge was on!

Creative Blend are a digital marketing agency with a big heart. They have supported our Real Talk campaign this year and enabled more people to have open and honest conversations about suicide #realtalkheroes. It has been a pleasure to work with Grant and the team. I can definitely recommend.

The Approach:
Our first step for the logo & brand design was to take the feedback from the previously created logos and turn this into a list of requirements for the next stage. This helped both us and the Real Talk team break-down a list of terms, colours, ideas and a representation of what they saw the brand looking like.
Once all information was collated we approached the logo design in a very similar manner to all other brand projects. Starting in greyscale to focus on the ?mark? itself, we worked with the team to uncover their preferred direction, with time not on our side we were very lucky that the Real Talk team loved one of the initial ideas!
Moving swiftly we created a colour palette to accompany the logo and we were able to successfully hit our deadline, whilst producing a brand that has been well used in events, press and the new website.
